As part of an alliance contract, Fluor has been providing asset management, contractor management, facilities operations and maintenance and process improvement to BlueScope Steel in Port Kembla since 2001.

We have created considerable cost savings for BlueScope Steel through a maintenance improvement program, which includes retirement of unnecessary locomotives and numerous coal wagons.

We also introduced an ultrasonic rail testing program, reducing derailment and achieving a 99.98% locomotive supply availability.
